Engage in and contribute to international initiatives promoting the circular economy
Terms of the action or commitment
PACE :
In 2022, TotalEnergies joined the PACE (Platform for the Accelerating Circular Economy) initiative, led by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
As part of this initiative, TotalEnergies is committed to doubling the amount of circular raw materials used in its industrial sites (refineries and petrochemicals) and to doubling the circularity of its sales volumes and revenues over the next 10 years (by 2030).
Alliance to End Plastic Waste :
TotalEnergies is a founding member of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste, created in 2019, which includes 80 companies from the plastics and the consumer goods value chains. The Alliance aims to provide $1.5 billion in funding over five years to develop solutions for reducing and processing (reusing, recycling and recovering) used plastics in the environment, particularly in the oceans. To date, many partnerships have already been established. In 2021, the Alliance supported the Coliba project, which aims to improve the collection, processing and sale of rigid plastic waste in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) by setting up collection bins in Shell and TotalEnergies service stations. The collected plastic waste is baled and transferred to Coliba’s factory for processing before being resold.
