100% deforestation and conversion free supply chain globally by 2030 for palm oil, soy, beef and paper products
Terms of the action or commitment
Our shorter-term goals for 2025 are:
– 100% certified sustainable palm oil
– 100% certified sustainable disposable papers.
To do so:
– Soybean: Considering their position in the supply chain, our suppliers have a low level of visibility on the content and providence of animal feed in their supply chains and low awareness on the topic of Responsible Soy in general. Therefore, Sodexo has decided to prioritize developing a Supplier capacity building program for its egg and chicken suppliers in France and Brazil this year which is currently being finalized with a technical partner. This program will support our annual soy supply chain data collection process
– Palm oil & paper:
Working with Sodexo’s priority regions to increase the share of certified products.
Investing in landscape projects in Indonesia to protect and restore natural ecosystems while supporting sustainable livelihoods.
– Beef: Local beef sourcing will continue to be a priority.
Systemic change in supply chains is also needed. Sodexo will intensify its advocacy activities with the foodservice industry. Within organizations such as the Consumer Goods Forum Forest Positive Coalition, on the one hand. Within governing bodies, on the other hand, by following up on the declaration of the catering services industry on the regulation of deforestation co-developed with the WWF, at the European Union level.
