Commitment on three axes: valorization of the material, solidarity approach with an ESAT (establishment and service of help by work, welcoming disabled people) and creation of value.
Description of the solution: the life jackets used in aircraft have an expiry date. AIR FRANCE Industries recycles them in order to give the material a second life to the material, avoiding early destruction and the costs of destruction, while financing the manufacture of the kits by an ESAT. We have added to the life jackets, the seat covers (fabric and leather) and seat belts to make kits, bags, covers….
Since the beginning of the partnership with Bilum in 2012, approximately 5,000 life jackets, 700 seat covers and 450 Concorde covers for an exclusive collection have been upcycled.
