Assess the use of non-fossil raw materials in the fuel tanks production

Project objective: Evaluate alternative sources to fossil HDPE (High density PE) for the manufacture of fuel tanks
Project description:
The commitment foresees a conclusion in 2025, expected date of validation of alternative materials. To reach the target, following actions are planned
– Consultation with raw material suppliers
– Consultation with manufacturers in order to anticipate the approval of raw materials
– Testing and validation on pilot products
– Identification of production capacities and cost – logistics – quality impacts
Evaluation of alternatives identified with raw material manufacturers:
– Integration of recycled materials
– Integration of recycled material residues (after pyrolysis)
– Use of ethylene produced from non-fossil stocks
