Terms of the action or commitment

Improve the sustainability of own brand products by activating 3 levers:

1. Reduce the failure rate of group-branded products as soon as they are selected by setting sustainability criteria shared with the factories;
2. Increase the availability of own-brand spare parts (from 7 years to 10 years for Proline, 12 years for Thomson);
3. Make spare parts of own brands accessible to as many people as possible.

Levers mobilized for circular economy (according to Ademe)

The breakdown rate for OEM is stable since 2019.

2019

2020

2021

Breakdown rate OEM

 2,86%

 2,79%

  2,80%

*Breakdown rate = ratio of products repaired (with or without parts) or exchanged (technical reason) in their first year of warranty over 12 rolling months with the number of products (smoothed cumulative sales) under warranty over 12 rolling months.

Since 2021, the Group’s Quality Sourcing team has been monitoring the Sustainability Scores of its products every month (breakdown rate and availability of spare parts) and working with factories to help them improve the reliability and repairability of their products.

Company's comments
Fnac Darty has set itself the goal of reducing the breakdown rate of OEM products by setting sustainability criterias shared with the factories.

On the repair side, in order to make OEM spare parts accessible to as many people as possible, customers and independent repairers now have the option of ordering a spare part from a Darty store.

In addition, for products affected by the French directive relating to the repairability index, Fnac Darty set up in 2021 free access to technical documents in order to promote repair by all players: http://www.madocumentationreparation.com.

NB: The end date of the objective has been changed from 2023 to 2025 in order to align with the new “Everyday” strategic plan released in March 2021.
